College Fashion Week 2014, Hamburg – The Future Young Designers

A friend of mine works as a teacher in the school and one of her teaching subjects is design. For nearly a year she worked with her colleagues and students on a fashion project and the results of it they presented on the school catwalk on 26/27th May, for which I was invited.

The whole project was presented by Erich-Kästner school, initiated and sponsored by Kulturstiftung des Bundes (the Federal Cultural Foundation) and Stiftung Mercator, co-financed by the city of Hamburg and supported by the cooperating partner Conecco UG.

The annual theme of the fashion show was “Text”. The students had been working for months diligently on their own creations under coordination of their teachers. They drew their inspiration for the drafts from various literary works, newspapers, journals or from their own essays. Some of the designers in own creative dresses are presented in the pictures below.

The show was great conceived with amazing light system, music and choreography. On the runway the girls looked beautiful in the dresses created with their own hands.

Now let me introduce you the teachers for design Maren Wächter and Cosima Teuffer who’ve done a great work and were on hand with help and advice for their students in the fashion project. You see how relieved they are that all went so well.
Maren has her sister Meike, who is my fabulous friend too.
